Prevention Support/Services
Prevention Support and Services provide a spectrum of assistance and outreach that engages the Yuba County student, family, school, district, and community to build resiliency and capacity.
Our programs include:
Foster Youth Services and Coordinating Program
The FYSC Program offers support, advocacy, and education for foster youth and families.
Tobacco Use and Prevention Education- The TUPE Program creates student advocates for a tobacco-free lifestyle through prevention education and youth development. Inquiries for middle school and high school students can be sent to kayla.batad@yubacoe.k12.ca.us
Education for Homeless Children and Youth- The EHCY Program provides education, support, and advocacy for youth and their families experiencing homelessness, including school supplies, clothing, and personal hygiene products. Inquiries can be sent to caridad.arzu-ramirez@yubacoe.k12.ca.us.
Student Mental Health and Wellness- The SMHW Program provides a multi-level system of support for students, families, and staff to increase resiliency and mental wellness through training, education, resources, and collaboration. Inquiries can be sent to theresa.hioki@yubacoe.k12.ca.us.
Parenting/Caregiver Resources-Each program of Prevention Support and Services strives to work with both the student and the family. Connecting parents and caregivers to resources to meet needs and build better relationships help the student develop and thrive. Parenting classes and referrals for resources can be requested by contacting theresa.hioki@yubacoe.k12.ca.us or can be accessed through the padlet at
