The Yuba County Office of Education’s Youth Advocacy Department’s goal is to provide guidance and advocacy for at-risk and criminal justice involved youth. By offering a system of supports, we aim to provide safety, life altering relationships, and a healing path to their full potential.

LCSSP- The Learning Communities for School Success Program (LCSSP) at the Yuba County Office of Education is focused on reducing chronic absenteeism, dropouts, and suspensions while increasing school connectedness. Through personalized one-on-one support from prevention specialists and collaboration with SARB and SART meetings with our school districts, the program serves schools in Yuba County, providing direct services, case management, community resources, and therapeutic support to students and families.

MIPP - The Marijuana Intervention and Prevention Program is designed to reduce cannabis use among youth by offering an approach that includes education, counseling, and case management services. Through early intervention efforts, the program conducts screenings to identify at-risk individuals and provides referrals to appropriate support services. Participants receive one-on-one counseling and access to a range of wellness resources, including mental health services, educational support, and family-focused initiatives, helping youth and their families make more informed decisions.. By addressing the underlying factors contributing to cannabis use, the program empowers youth to make healthier decisions and fosters positive long-term outcomes.

Allcove - Allcove is a new program that brings together different services for young people aged 12 to 25 in one convenient place. We provide services for mental health, physical health, substance use, peer support, family support, and supported education and employment. The program is youth-led and will also host activities and events chosen by the youth.

CSECY - The CSECY program plays a crucial role in educating the community about the commercial sexual exploitation of children and youth while providing essential services to those affected. Our training sessions focus on identifying risk factors and equipping participants with effective strategies for responding to victims of exploitation. Additionally, the program offers direct support to children and youth identified as victims or those considered at high risk of victimization, ensuring they receive the help they need.
