Each student meets with me once a week for an hour and there is always much to accomplish during each appointment: assigning and evaluating work assignments, assessing learning, and providing as much teaching as time allows!  I try to make my teaching time fun, engaging, and worthwhile. I feel that family support is crucial for effective student learning on Independent Study.

Other goals for my students include: understanding concepts, developing skills while gaining knowledge, maintaining high expectations for success and achievement, and attending to personal growth, as well as becoming more critical thinkers.

I received my B.S. degree at the University of California, Davis and my Teaching Credential through Chico State University. I’ve been a teacher with the Yuba Co. Office of Education since 2001. For 13 years I was the teacher of the Opportunity Program at Camptonville Elementary School in Camptonville. I have been teaching here since 2014.
