Yuba County SELPA Mission

  • The Yuba County SELPA supports member local education agencies (LEAs) to deliver high quality special education programs and services to students with disabilities in the most effective, efficient, collaborative, and cost-effective manner.

Yuba County SELPA Vision

  • We believe students with disabilities are general education students first!  We recognize and acknowledge our students need additional time and support in their learning.  Through our collaborative efforts, students are given access to high quality curriculum, assessments, programs, and services to support their educational growth and development in the least restrictive environment.

What is a SELPA?

  • The Yuba County Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA) is responsible for the implementation, oversight and facilitation of educational services for students with disabilities throughout Yuba County and across the SELPA region (including the California Montessori Project Charter Network which spans across the Sacramento, Elk Grove and El Dorado regions).  The Yuba County SELPA believes that ALL students CAN and DO learn.

Yuba County's SELPA is dedicated to the belief that all students can learn and that special needs students must be guaranteed equal opportunity to become contributing members of society. We also believe in facilitating high quality educational programs and services for special needs students and training for parents and educators. The Yuba County SELPA collaborates with other agencies and school districts to develop and maintain healthy and enriching environments in which special needs students and families can live and succeed.
